Special Note: Some GPS Navigation Programs guide visitors to the opposite side of the train complex. Please be aware of this and note that the museum is located near Chase Street on Burhans Boulevard (US Rt. 11). Our building is pictured above for reference.

   

 

 

The Hagerstown Roundhouse Museum is dedicated to promoting a public understanding of the railroad-related activities in the general area of Hagerstown, Maryland by restoration, preservation, entertainment and education.

The principal goals of the museum include:

  • Preservation and restoration of the historic railway equipment, including steam and diesel locomotives, passenger cars, freight cars and other rolling stock.
  • Preservation of the Hagerstown Roundhouse legacy, brining awareness to it's history, operations, landmark events, and employees.
  • Public education as to the energy efficiency and ongoing value of rail transport.
  • Public enjoyment of railroading through exhibits, trips, lectures and other media.

 

The Officers and Directors of the Hagerstown Roundhouse Museum invite to join them to preserve and promote the legacy of railroading in the four state region by becoming a member of the Hagerstown Roundhouse Museum, a working museum of railroading and transportation.
